About

I was originally licensed as Kb0MGA in 1994 when I was a freshman in high school.  I was very active in the St. Charles Amateur Radio Club during high school, as well as at the UMR Amateur Radio Club in college.  After college I got married and lost interest in radio for a while.  After attending the RRARS field day in 2010, my wife (KC0RBS) and I decided to finally upgrade from technician and get on HF.  I upgraded to extra and Steph made it to general (but vows to get her extra ticket in September).  I applied for a vanity call in early August and was granted NA0Q on August 21.

I currently work mostly PSK31 on 20 meters but plan to install a multi-band dipole soon to get on 10-40 meters.

I plan to use this blog to document my experiences on HF and ham radio in general.  I’ll also document some of the radio-related projects I work on.
